Ministry Profile: Ushers
With a name like Usher, it's fitting that David Usher would serve Parkside Church as, well, an usher. "I've been ushering for about 10 years," says Usher with a warm and welcoming smile. "I enjoy it. I look at it as a ministry. It's not just a job. It's something that I can do to serve the Lord, and God gets the glory."

Speaking the Truth in Love
Every day I listen and speak with people who are hurting either because of their own sin, someone else’s sin or from the mere fact they are living life on a fallen planet. At times I wish I could wave a wand and make their problems and struggles disappear—if only life was that easy! Book Recommendation: "What is an Evangelical?"
This month's recommended reading selection is "What is an Evangelical?" by Dr. D. Martyn Lloyd-Jones. The slim volume is a collection of three talks Lloyd-Jones delivered in 1971 to the International Fellowship of Evangelical Students through which Lloyd-Jones addressed his concerns about the "subtle, but real shifts in commitment to the biblical gospel."

In Matthew 19:14, "Jesus said, 'Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these." Each week, hundreds of children come through Parkside's doors and the faithful volunteers of the Children's Ministry stand prepared to receive each one of them with the love and grace they themselves have received from Jesus Christ. According to Children's Ministry volunteers, Heather and Andy Davis, the experience is rewarding beyond words.

90 Days, Many Ways, One Gospel: An Outreach Emphasis at the Green Campus
Fall is an exciting time of year where change is in the air. As school begins and the leaves change, Parkside Church Green Campus is beginning a new outreach initiative entitled, “90 Days, Many Ways.” There is no greater joy in the entire world than knowing Jesus Christ and sharing the message of Jesus with others. Nothing compares to the peace that we have knowing him and it is our desire for others to experience the same.

6th Grade Welcome at Club JV
A Welcome...
The Middle School years are a pretty remarkable time of life. Everything surrounding these students suggests that the world is getting bigger, moving faster, and probably crazier than they could ever have imagined. It’s exciting, and potentially a little scary.
This is where Club JV comes in. Club JV is part of Parkside’s ministry to middle school students in grades 6-8. Club JV meets on Tuesdays at the Warehouse. Every Tuesday is an opportunity for fun and growth as we spend time building relationships, playing games, worshiping God, and studying the Bible.
