Parkside Missionaries

God uses His Church and His Word empowered by His Spirit to see unbelieving people become committed followers of Jesus Christ. We, as Christians, have been given the command to share his wonderful story of reconciliation with the world.

Pray for this last month of CLAVE, the program to train speakers of indigenous languages in skills for promoting reading and publishing in their own language. As the students work hard, please pray for them to stay the course and to learn the skills they will need to return to their villages and work as teachers and translators.

SIL Article

Friends,

I just got word that the CLAVE project is being featured on the SIL website. You can see it at: http://www.sil.org/sil/news/2012/clave-2nd-session-2012.htm

God's best to you all.

Parkside Short-term Team Update

Just a quick note to let you know that the dental team was a great success! The team worked well together. Each individual stepped up in their own way and made things run smoothly. I guess they call that synergy. It was great to see it happen over such a short period of time.

Pedro and Gavino were thrilled at the way the team interacted with the people in Colonia de Jesus. The few Christians who were facing persecution there were encouraged. Pray that the love that was shown to the people will open hearts to the Gospel and allow the Christians to meet together without opposition.

Friday we saw 97 patients in a local prison. We pray that this will keep the doors open for evangelism there. We did not identify any major problems with the planning and organization.

Collins 2011 in Retrospect

Download the Retrospect PDF with photos here.

Friends, Greetings from central Colombia. I'm attaching our annual Retrospect, and I hope it brings you up to date with what last year was like for us--now that we're full tilt into the new year.

For those who want to skip the news and go to pictures of the kids and grandkids, they are on the last three pages.

One of our students almost drowned yesterday, but is now doing well. She got into fast moving water at the river and panicked, and then possibly had a reaction to not enough sugar in her blood, then she hit her head and scared herself and the rest of us. I am reminded how far we are from anywhere and I ask for your prayers to sustain this whole enterprise.

Bolivian Pastoral Assistants January 2012 Prayer Requests

 • Pray for Tomas and Nancy Diaz, ready to begin 2 ESI groups in Loja, Ecuador with 30 pastors.

 • Pray for our Pastoral Assistant (PA) training program in the ILC and IBM churches in La Paz as we train 15 pastors learn to think and live Biblically.

• Pray for PAs Ramiro Sanjinez, Mateo Cruz, Gumercindo Coronel, and Juan Cruz as they continue studying 16 hours each week in Romans, preparing messages through Romans, and being involved in a variety of ministry training in the ILC and IBM churches. Each reports that God is changing their way of thinking and doing ministry through this intensive process.
