Harrington Family Ministry Update February 2017
Two years ago we were just learning where we would be in Japan. Being in northern Japan was not our intention. We thought we would begin in Tokyo near the many language schools. God had other plans. We were not planning for Mark to go directly into Japanese elementary school or for Lillia to begin Japanese kindergarten, but God had other plans. As Jeff Mills likes to say, “Hold loosely onto your plans and hold tightly onto God.”
God’s plan for our start in Japan was to be part of Shiogama Bible Baptist Church. It is a mega-church by Japanese standards, composed of about 80 members. Currently they have one church plant. Their desire is to begin several more churches in cities that do not have a Christian church. They have a passion for introducing their community to Christ and it is our privilege to learn under their leadership.
God’s plan to have our children in Japanese school has blessed us with some of our most treasured relationships. Many of these friends have made it their joy to help us succeed at life in Japan (which is no small task!). It has been our joy to watch these friends be introduced to the living God who loves them and made them.
We look forward to seeing God’s plan for our next two years. Please join us in praying for the people in northern Japan.
