Tax Preparation Volunteers Needed
United Way Services of Geauga County is partnering with Geauga County’s AARP Tax Aide program in an effort to help provide more area residents with tax preparation assistance this upcoming tax season. Last year the program was able to help over 770 people by preparing and filing their taxes for them. In Ohio, that is a savings of $256 in tax preparation costs alone. This doesn’t include deductions and credits the volunteer tax preparers often find that previously were overlooked.
We are looking for more volunteers for 2018 so we can help more people. Help out your friends and neighbors here in Geauga County by providing a valuable resource and helping people keep money in their pockets!
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
• Helping Geauga County residents save $100-$200 on their tax preparation & filing
• Finding often overlooked tax credits for those who will benefit from them the most
• Learning tax rules and how to submit tax returns
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
• Someone who wants to help others
• Can attend a week long training in Chesterland January 8th - 12th.
• Can commit 40 hours to volunteering across the 3 1/2 months of tax season
