Thanksgiving Box "Thank You"
Thank you to each person who participated in our 2016 Thanksgiving Box Project. 360 boxes are delivered and God was beyond gracious as always. Tuesday of last week we only had 130 of the minimum 250 boxes needed, so I asked the coordinator of the Thursday Morning Woman's Bible Study, and my mid-week Life group leader, to announce our need. An email was also sent to small groups and by Thursday afternoon we had 290 and by Friday evening 360!!!! God's people are so generous and willing when they hear there is a need.
We had double the loading crew needed show up to help load trucks Saturday morning, which was accomplished in a record 20 minutes! As we headed for Scranton Road in a rain/snow mix we were wondering if the crowd to help deliver would be lessened. By the time we parked the trucks, the rain/snow had ceased and the people of both congregations began to arrive and by 10:00 AM the church was packed with people of all ages to fulfill the task of delivery. What a blessing it is to join with Scranton Church in this time of thanksgiving and preparation for the final step of the Box Project. There is no greater joy for me than to share in service with them and to share Christ in this way.
The Thanksgiving Box Project continues to amaze me in the different challenges which arise each year and yet God over comes in miraculous ways to teach me how much in control of it all that He is. Thank you for the privilege to work in this program at Parkside Church. Thank you for all of your help and prayers. He is faithful in all ways and it is always a blessing to watch how it all comes together.
