  • Volunteer for the United Way Services of Geauga County 2021 Day of Action!

Spring is in the air, and I’m sure many of you are anxious to (safely) get out of the house after so many months of feeling cooped up. United Way Services of Geauga County has been working on ways to help volunteers get involved in giving back to the community while remaining safe. This year's United Way Day of Action, which will take place on June 18th, will be a great way to get out and help. Historically this is a day that provides volunteers an opportunity to be a part of solutions that make a difference in people’s lives in our county. We are confident that our project will do just that … make a difference!

Our Day of Action project is to build and plant a garden for women in recovery at Lake-Geauga Recovery’s Twelve Meadows Women’s Residence in Munson Twp. In addition to the garden, there will be opportunities on this day to build garden accessories or work with our Women United Group in building bookshelves for the Twelve Meadows residence.

Our office is following guidance from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and local health authorities to ensure we have the right plans and resources in place to safeguard your health and well-being. If you are interested in helping on June 18th, please let me know and we will plug you in safely.

  • Hands Up Cleveland-Volunteers Needed!

Hands Up Cleveland works with inner city youth by offering positive programming in the form of music, exercise, and art. The kids they serve are falling through the cracks of existing programming. Coaches come from within the same neighborhoods as these kids, so they have the ability to reach those in need.

*They were working in Glenville neighborhood out of Cory Rec until it closed due to staff being used at vaccination locations. They now have a location in Beachwood, but with it, the problem of transportation. They are buying a van and could use volunteer drivers.

*They also need volunteers to help with social media and their website.

If you would like to find out more about Hands Up Cleveland and all the ways to volunteer, please contact Kate by email or at 440-223-2013.
