Parkside Church invites you to pray with us at home on the evening of March 15, 2020.
In an abundance of care and concern for our congregation and community in view of the current Coronavirus situation, we will not be gathering together for our usual evening service. As we consider the uncertainty of the world around us, we know that the Lord is sovereign, that He hears our prayers, and that we can turn to Him as a resting place in troubled times. JC Ryle reminds of of the importance of prayer in his book Practical Religion:
“Nothing seems to be too great, too hard, or too difficult for prayer to do. It has obtained things that seemed impossible and out of reach. It has won victories over fire, air, earth, and water. Prayer opened the Red Sea. Prayer brought water from the rock and bread from heaven. Prayer made the sun stand still. Prayer brought fire from the sky on Elijah’s sacrifice … Prayer has healed the sick. Prayer has raised the dead. Prayer has procured the conversion of souls.”
May our prayers give us hearts to see how we might practically care for those around us, as well as open doors for conversations about the hope found in Jesus Christ. We encourage you to use the guide below as a way to pray on your own, with your family, or even over the phone with a friend.
