The Parkside Insider: March 3, 2023
Basics is a three-day conference (May 8-10) for pastors and Christian workers with the goal of encouraging men amid the challenges of full-time ministry, and equipping them to do the basics of Christian ministry well. We are thankful for the privilege to once again offer the opportunity for refreshment and growth to hundreds of men in the ministry.

Parkside Hospitality

When asked what draws the men to this specific conference, they list three things: 1. the solid biblical teaching; 2. the hospitality they receive from the Parkside family; and 3. the camaraderie of other men in ministry. Whether you’ve prayed, served food, set up rooms, or hosted attendees, your help in years past has made our church a welcoming place to those who have attended Basics.

4 Ways to Serve

If you'd like to be involved with Basics 2023, we have a number of options:
  1. Host Pastors in Your Home: If you live near Parkside, open your home to one or more pastors and provide overnight lodging during the conference.

  2. Serve Meal(s): Set and clear tables, serve food at the buffet stations, and fill drinks. Choose one or more meal shifts.

  3. Commit to Praying: Receive a weekly email prayer guide with specific prayer requests leading up to and throughout the conference.

  4. Assist with Setup: Help move tables, chairs, and more on Sunday, May 7, after the 10:30am service. Lunch will be provided.

Last Week's Sermon
Jude 1:1-2

The book of Jude is a brief letter written by one of Jesus’ half brothers to urge the early church to keep the faith and to warn them about false teachers. But before broaching those subjects, Jude begins by establishing several truths that are vital for God’s people everywhere to understand. Alistair Begg introduces a study in Jude by looking at these opening verses, which remind us that as believers, we are called, beloved, and kept by God and recipients of his unending mercy, peace, and love.

This week's song spotlight is "Apostles' Creed," by Emu Music. Written in 2022, the lyrics echo the classic profession of faith from the second century. We plan to introduce it at Parkside in the upcoming weeks, as it is a timely song for our new series in Jude.
