Happy Retirement to Kay Carter!

Beginning a career after raising children wasn’t something that Kay had anticipated, but in the summer of 1992, she learned about job opening at Parkside and a friend encouraged her to apply. “You can see God’s hand looking back,” she recalled. "My youngest was off to college, and I was looking for a new start." In the old Parkside offices on Route 91 in Solon, Kay began her new career as the main receptionist. 

After two and a half years of being the first voice callers would hear, Kay was approached to fill another vacancy: assistant to Alistair Begg. For nearly twenty-five years—with a break in the middle due to a relocation to St. Louis and then Pittsburgh—Kay has helped Alistair with the many details of his schedule and days. She has counted it a privilege to serve him and Parkside in this way. “I have benefited so much in so many ways and I certainly have gained more than I have given!" Kay said. "I am so grateful that God directed my steps to Parkside many years ago, and I’m confident that He will continue to guide me as I look forward to this new chapter of life.”

Welcome to Joy Harabedian!

Parkside welcomes Joy Harabedian, who will once again serve as Alistair’s assistant. Joy and her husband, John, have been at Parkside for twenty-five years. Joy worked for Alistair for a few years (when Kay was residing out of state), and John serves on our Elder team.
