An Evening in the Arts: Beyond the Chariots

Relive the incredible adventures of 1924 Olympic gold medalist Eric Liddell in war-torn China. Rich Swingle’s play picks up where Chariots of Fire left off. Hear what some are calling “the most interesting part” of Liddell’s story in Beyond the Chariots.

Parkside Church invites you to An Evening in the Arts on Friday, March 27. Bring a friend to enjoy Rich Swingle’s one-act, one-man play, Beyond the Chariots followed by a Q&A segment and coffee and desserts. This play has been featured Off-Broadway and around the world.

The event will be held in The Venue at 7:00 pm. There is no cost to attend but registration is requested.

About Rich Swingle

Rich Swingle has performed and/or taught on five continents, in 27 nations and in hundreds of venues, mostly with a dozen one-man plays he has written or helped develop including Beyond the Chariots.

Rich has been immersed in the life of Eric Liddell since 2000 when he visited the Liddell Centre in Edinburgh and pored through family photos and out-of-print biographies. His performances have taken him to Le Stade de Colombes in Paris, where Liddell broke the world record, and to Tientsin, China, and a track Liddell designed, to the home where he lived and a church where he preached. He’s interviewed people that remember Liddell on four continents, including all three of Liddell’s daughters, two of his wife’s siblings, one of his students, & numerous people who were interned with him in China.
