Every believer faces situations when following Jesus results in suffering, whether it be insults or actual persecution. This message from 1 Peter 4 helps us to respond in a godly manner by expecting suffering, by knowing God has a purpose in it, by being honest when the real cause is our own sin, and by praising Him for the opportunity to identify with Christ in this way.
