A Matter of Life and Death

Proverbs 9 introduces us to wisdom and folly personified. While both appeal to us, their invitations are strikingly different. Wisdom takes the initiative to send out messengers to invite all within the sound of her voice to enjoy beauty, satisfaction, and perfect rest. Folly lies in wait for those who pass by, enticing them to step aside into corruption and momentary pleasure. The path of wisdom is the path of knowing Christ, who is our wisdom, and in whom we can find eternal rest and satisfaction as we humble ourselves before God, learning from him and enjoying his abundant and eternal blessings.
