Supported Worker: Andrew & Angie James
Country: Uruguay
Details: With COVID-19 cases spiking in Uruguay after a year of relatively low numbers, the government is taking measures to shut down many businesses and institutions. The James children, who were attending school in person when the school year began in March, are now studying 100% at home. They have also had to stop in-person church services temporarily, as many of the people at church either have COVID-19 or have been in contact with COVID-positive patients. Please pray for them and the church as they navigate these challenging times, that God would give them wisdom and grace to faithfully care for the people he has put under their care, and that they would be light for those who do not yet know Christ. Liberia (Africa). Population: 5,252,580 Believers: 14.6%. The task of evangelization and mission must fall to Liberians and other Africans. Foreign missionaries had a long, hard, uphill struggle to plant churches in the interior; but disease, language diversity, entrenched fetishism, and the disruption of war all hampered the work and eventually drove out all expat workers. Pray for those with a burden to return; pray for wisdom to know how they can best serve in rebuilding the nation, and best help the Liberian Church complete the evangelization of every people.
