We are praying that during the next four weeks the Lord would raise up 6 teachers & 45 helpers in Preschool (ages 2-K) and 25 helpers in Elementary (grades 1-5). Would you prayerfully consider if Sunday morning Children's Ministries is the place the Lord would have you serve Him at Parkside Church?

Sunday Morning Children's Classes FAQ

Have questions about serving? Here's some additional information:

What ages of children have Sunday morning classes? We have classes for all children ages 2 - 5th grade.
When do children's classes meet? We meet at the 9:45 am & 11:15 am services.

Do I need to be a Parkside member to serve? We do ask that you be a Parkside member if you are the classroom teacher; however, we need over 90 helpers in the rooms, and we encourage non-members to serve (regular attendance at Parkside for at least 6 months, please).

How often would I serve? We ask that you commit to serving on a team with 3-4 other adults each Sunday during either the 9:45 am or 11:15 am service from September-July. Adult LIFE Group members serve as substitutes in August.

Why do you ask for a year commitment? Our desire is to provide stability to the children, as well as an opportunity for adults to "get connected" through serving. Your Sunday morning team is somewhat like a mini-LIFE Group-providing fellowship, opportunity for personal growth, and a regular place of service. Many of our helpers have said that their teams have developed meaningful friendships with one another and grown tremendously in Christ through their service in Children's Ministries.

I'm interested in serving, but what happens if I can't be there every Sunday? While we ask that you commit to serving regularly on a team, we do understand that there will be times when you are unable to be there (illness, travel, etc.). This is why we have teams! When you are unable to attend, it is usually not a burden for you or your team because there are 3-4 other adults who will be in attendance .

Is there curriculum that is provided? Yes! Each class has its own age-appropriate curriculum with a lesson plan and ideas for each week.

When do classes begin? Preschool classes (ages 2-Kindergarten) begin on Sunday, September 2. Elementary classes (1st-5th grades) begin on Sunday, September 9.

I can't make a commitment on Sunday mornings. Is there somewhere else in Children's Ministries for me to serve? Yes! We invite you to consider serving on a Nursery Team (once/5 weeks) or as a Pioneer Clubs leader (midweek, 2x/month).
