Musicians

Samantha Biniker is currently finishing her MM in collaborative piano at the Cleveland Institute of Music and graduated with her BM in May 2010 from the University of Michigan. Originally from Toledo, OH, she frequently returns to play with the Toledo Symphony. She has been blessed to be a member of the praise team at Parkside since Sept. 2010 when she first moved to Cleveland and began attending the church. She is and loves being involved as one of the leaders in the youth ministry.

Originally from Spartanburg, South Carolina, Alan Harrell has been a member of the Cleveland Orchestra since 1995.  He studied at the Cleveland Institute of Music and is now on the faculty at Cleveland State University as well as a number of music festivals around the country.  Alan and his wife Karin have been attending Parkside Church since 2004 and have been involved in both the music ministry and the children's ministry.  In fact, Alan considers his favorite musical experience each week to be in Bonnie Sweebe's 9:45am kindergarten class here at Parkside Church. Karin Harrell began playing the violin at age 5 when a teacher from Memphis, TN came to teach in her small town of Forest City, AK. After also living in IN, KS, and TX while growing up, she then attended The Cleveland Institute of Music for her BM and MM degrees. Karin performs in several professional operas and orchestras and also enjoys playing with Pop, Rock, Country, and Jazz artists.

Natalie Lin is originally from Auckland, New Zealand and is currently working on her MM at CIM where she previously earned her BM as well. She has attended Parkside since 2010, and plays occasionally with the praise team. Fun fact: her uncle was roommates with Alistair in seminary!

Gregory Luce is currently pursuing his Doctoral Degree in viola performance from the University of Maryland at College Park, studying with Katherine Murdock (formerly of the Mendelssohn String Quartet).  After his time in the Cleveland Institute of Music (during which he served on the praise team at Parkside ) from 2007-2009, he moved to Austin, TX for graduate study along with his string quartet, the Aeolus Quartet.  Greg misses living near Parkside, but frequently tunes in with his wife Anna and their tiny dog, Zoe, to watch services from the Parkside website.

Joel K. Negus just finished his BM in double bass performance at the Cleveland Institute of Music this past May and married his beautiful wife Allison in June. He has attended Parkside since his freshman year of college and has been playing electric bass regularly with the Praise Team since 2008. He currently freelances as a classical and jazz bass player in the greater Cleveland area.
Nicholas Tavani, originally from Washington, DC, began attending Parkside when he came to Cleveland in 2005 to study violin at the Cleveland Institute of Music. He was a member of the worship team from 2007-2009. Nicholas is currently the first violinist of the award winning Aeolus Quartet, which tours internationally and is the graduate String Quartet in Residence at the University of Maryland, where he is working on his Doctorate in violin performance.

Heather Wible earned her BM from the North Carolina School for the Arts and her MM from Ball State University. She was born and spent the first years of her life in Guam where her parents were teaching. Heather currently plays oboe with the Erie Philharmonic and lives in Cleveland Heights with her housemates, Samantha Biniker, and Joel & Allison Negus, who have connected her to Parkside and the music ministry.
