The God of the Bible is a God who pursues and reveals in complete sovereignty. In this study of Jonah 1 we are reminded that the knowledge of God apart from devotion and obedience is not enough. Jonah negatively depicts the manner we should respond to God and His unconditional love and points us forward to Christ the perfect prophet whom obediently sacrificed his own life and desires to save people from every tribe and nation.
