Basics Conference 2013

Speakers

Alistair has invited Thabiti Anyabwile and Kevin DeYoung to join him for the 2013 annual Basics Conference, which will take place May 13-15, 2013 at Parkside Church in Chagrin Falls, OH.

Thabiti Anyabwile is Senior Pastor of First Baptist Church of Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands. A native of Lexington, North Carolina, he is also the happy husband of Kristie and the adoring father of two daughters, Afiya and Eden, and one son, Titus. Thabiti previously served as an elder/assistant pastor at Capitol Hill Baptist Church (Washington, DC) and as an elder at Church on the Rock (Raleigh, NC). He is the author of three books: The Faithful Preacher (2007); The Decline of African-American Theology (2007); and What Is a Healthy Church Member? (2008).

Kevin DeYoung has been the Senior Pastor at University Reformed Church since August 2004. His three main responsibilities include preaching, leadership, and administration. Kevin was born outside of Chicago in South Holland, Illinois and from third grade on, grew up in Jenison, Michigan. He attended Hope College and Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. Prior to serving at URC, Kevin was the Associate Pastor at First Reformed Church in Orange City, Iowa. Kevin and his lovely wife, Trisha, have five children: Ian, Jacob, Elizabeth, Paul and Mary.

Alistair Begg has been inpastoral ministry for over 30 years. He served eight years in Scotland at both Charlotte Chapel in Edinburgh and Hamilton Baptist Church. He has been the Senior Pastor at Parkside Church near Cleveland, Ohio since 1983. He has written several books and is heard daily and weekly on the radio program, Truth For Life. He and his wife, Susan, have been married more than 30 years and have 3 grown children.
