New City Catechism

Q34. Since we are redeemed by grace alone, through Christ alone, must we still do good works and obey God’s Word? (1 Peter 2:9–12)

Answer: Yes, because Christ, having redeemed us by his blood, also renews us by his Spirit; so that our lives may show love and gratitude to God; so that we may be assured of our faith by the fruits; and so that by our godly behavior others may be won to Christ.

Sympathy
We extend our sympathy to Diane Janakovich and her family upon the death of her mother, Helen Kish; and to Steve Schiopota and his family upon the death of his father, Eugene Schiopota.

Li Bradshaw, Bev Carpenter, Gail Dienes, and Gary Tilly.

Mike and Joan Ross in Oaxaca, Mexico
Pray for safety in flying as Mike and his fellow pilot, Amos, deal with clouds and rain on the mountain airstrips. Continue to pray for the paperwork process for airstrips, a hangar and an airplane that have been held up for several years. Pray for the opportunity to open a new airstrip this month — that it would open a door for the gospel. Pray for the pastors in Amoltepec as they study the ESI material using tablets. Pray that the technology would be a positive tool to encourage their studies.
