Solon Home Days: Thank You!

  • Posted on Mon 13, August 2012

A couple times a year Parkside Church takes the opportunity to go out into the communities surrounding us to make people aware that we are here and that we are a friendly and inviting place to visit.  The goal is that people, who wouldn't otherwise come through our doors on a Sunday, may consider doing so as a result of meeting our attenders and hearing about the church in a non-threatening environment.  Or maybe they will consider sending their children to our VBS program or a student ministry event.
We would like to thank the 45 people who volunteered to help at the Parkside Church booth at the Solon Home Days Festival on July 26-29. The festival theme this year was Mardi Gras.  It started out a little soggy on Thursday and Friday evenings but perseverance was rewarded with sunshine and large crowds on Saturday and Sunday.  The Parkside Plinko game for kids remained a crowd favorite and this year we had a “Mardi Gras photo spot” where folks could instantly become a jester.  A lot of literature and candy were distributed throughout the weekend, along with many balloons and smiles.
Thank you for your service and for sharing Christ's love with our community.
Here are some photos from the weekend.  Enjoy!
