This has been a really exciting season for our Lake County church plant. We are so encouraged by the interest in the plant as evidenced by the attendance at the two information meetings held in December. There has been a steady growth in adults responding to become part of the Core Team. Our prayerful goal is to have 200 Core Team participants by the launch in September 2012. We are excited to see what God will do.
The leadership at Maplegrove Christian Missionary Alliance Church in Willoughby Hills has voted to allow us to use facility space for our Core Team Gatherings (CTG). Our first CTG will be on February 12th at 5 p.m. in the multipurpose room at Maplegrove.
The CTG gatherings will not be church services. CTG's will blend different elements, including getting into God's word (Book of Acts), praying and spending time answering questions and/or thinking through ministry related items. However, every meeting will not look the same. This will be an ideal and informal place to introduce people to the plant. It will be open to unbelievers who are searching as well. Since the CTG meetings are not church services, the meetings will be held each Sunday at 5p.m., except the 1st Sunday of each month. This will ensure those attending have the opportunity to continue to fellowship at Parkside and participate in the communion service on the first of every month.
We are encouraging everyone to come early to the CTG’s. If you can get there at 4:45 (no more 40 minute drive-Yippee!!!) please do. There will be a light snack and there will be coffee (but not dinner). The CTG's will go for about an hour and 15 minutes (5-6:15p.m.). It will be good to have a Bible but if you don't have one we will provide you with one. We are prayerfully pursuing childcare help and are asking for your communication and flexibility at the beginning. Childcare will be provided for children (birth through the 5th grade) during the CTG’s and we strongly urge parents to notify us in advance if their children are coming so we can meet the needs of those attending (rpeteya@parksidechurch.com). Additionally, please respond if you are interested in helping with childcare on February 12th.
