In an effort to continue to provide gospel opportunities for gospel growth, we are looking forward to hosting our annual Marriage Matters Workshop on November 5, 2011. Each and every marriage is at the core a covenant of two sinners who have committed to one another to be married for better or for worse. Every marriage has its ups and downs; its good times and bad times. For the vast majority of us, we need a regular reminder of what marriage is truly about- it’s about Jesus Christ! Paul writes in Ephesians 5:32, “This [marriage] is a profound mystery—but I am talking about Christ and the church!” It’s much too easy in the everyday moments of our lives to forget, push out, and dilute the true meaning and purpose of marriage. This year’s conference is aimed at reclaiming a focus on the basics of what the marriage covenant is all about.
Pastor Jeff Mills will help us understand the biblical principles and purpose of marriage in our main sessions, while members of the pastoral team and others will aid us in a variety of breakout sessions to flesh out how to live life in a marriage. Issues of intimacy, communication, submission, purity, and much more will all be discussed in small breakout sessions.
This year we will be offering complimentary childcare in an effort to enable you and your friends to attend this day of enrichment and encouragement. Whether you’ve been married for twenty years or simply considering engagement and marriage, this workshop is for you.
