The move from elementary to middle school can be exciting and a little bit unsettling for students…and parents. Club JV, the Parkside Middle School ministry, wants to help. Please join us this Tuesday, August 2nd at 7pm for a special "6th Grade Welcome Night" to help make that transition a little bit easier.

At Club JV, our desire is to come alongside the family and help your students grow and develop, not merely spiritually, but emotionally and relationally as well. This weekly gathering for kids Grades 6 through 8 is a fun, informal time where students are taught the fundamentals of the Bible and have the opportunity to develop relationships and connect with peers outside of school and Sunday morning church environment. Additionally, students benefit from the committed attendance of our adult ministry team who are essential components of the Club JV ministry.

If your child is entering 6th Grade this summer, please join us this Tuesday, August 2nd at 7pm at the Warehouse for a fun night of Club JV.

Tents, Canoes, and the Occasional Mosquito

We also have a one-night camping and canoe trip on August 20-21 to Loudonville, OH called Mohican Madness. We sleep in tents, eat classic camping foods, drive go-carts, and canoe down a gentle river. As you can imagine, it is jam-packed with lots of fun and little sleep. The best part about this trip is the opportunity that it provides for relationships as they get to know one another through an overnight adventure of fun. Adult leaders also get to know students, especially the incoming 6th graders, on a personal basis. This trip is a great way to start the new school year off with a bang!

Registration will be posted very soon at www.parksidechurch.com/students>>

Please Pray and Consider Serving

We value your prayers for the youth ministry at this time of the year. Please pray that each student would have at least one good friend. Pray for the adult leaders who serve to be godly examples and have opportunities for good conversations. Pray that God would be merciful and lead students to an understanding and trusting in the Gospel.

One of the components of Building into the Next Generation is the encouragement of everyone at PKS serving somewhere. If tents, mosquitos, and controlled chaos sounds like fun, please email Dan Southam or Jon Cameron to learn more about becoming a member of the Adult Ministry Team.
