6th Grade Welcome at Club JV
A Welcome...
The Middle School years are a pretty remarkable time of life. Everything surrounding these students suggests that the world is getting bigger, moving faster, and probably crazier than they could ever have imagined. It’s exciting, and potentially a little scary.
This is where Club JV comes in. Club JV is part of Parkside’s ministry to middle school students in grades 6-8. Club JV meets on Tuesdays at the Warehouse. Every Tuesday is an opportunity for fun and growth as we spend time building relationships, playing games, worshiping God, and studying the Bible.
This Tuesday is especially exciting, because it is a night devoted to welcoming any incoming 6th graders who are transitioning into the Middle School Youth Ministry. We will be at the warehouse from 7-9 p.m. on Tuesday, August 3, so please come prepared to have a great time hanging out, playing some games, eating some pizza, and studying the Bible. We are really excited about new students being part of what God is doing in the student community of Parkside. We look forward to seeing you on August 3rd!
A Warehouse...
The Middle School Ministry spends a good portion of its time at a place called the Warehouse. It’s exactly what you probably picture: an actual warehouse. But on most nights, instead of forklifts and pallets, you’ll find students talking, playing ping-pong, throwing dodge balls, and shooting hoops. As you walk in, you’ll be welcomed into a place that was created for students to come and have as much fun as possible, build relationships, and most importantly, grow in getting to know our incredible God.
A Purpose...
Our purpose in the Middle School Youth Ministry at Parkside is to see unbelieving middle school students become committed followers of Jesus Christ. We seek to fulfill this purpose by loving students, building relationships, teaching God’s Word and living out the Gospel. Our desire is to build relationships with students so that we can meet them where they are, showing God’s truth and the Bible’s relevance no matter where or when we find ourselves. With God’s glory as our motivation, we want to teach the Bible passionately and creatively so that students genuinely meet with Christ by studying His word and finding out who God is and what He desires of those who are His children. It’s an incredible gift to spend time with students, getting to know who they are and what makes them go.
