What we are doing
From August 16th through September 6th we are holding a care package drive. We will be sending 10 specific items to each serviceman and woman including a New Testament and an encouraging letter inviting them to correspond with a Parkside Church member or family.
What we're collecting
1) Energy/Power Bars
2) Chewing Gum
3) Razors
4) Shaving Gel
5) Hand Sanitizer
6) Deodorant
7) Boot/Shoe Insoles
8) Foot Powder/Cream
9) Chapstick
10) Sunscreen
Our goal is 3-fold
1) We want to make the most of the opportunity to reach out to the 650 marines and sailors serving under LtCol. Bill Truax, Jr. who grew up attending Parkside and is now serving in Afghanistan.
2) We also want to encourage family members of Parkside Church who are serving in the military.
3) We want to impart help and hope to these men and women and potentially their families, through ongoing correspondence.
