Eldercare Finances
The Bible speaks with great honor toward the elderly, exhorting us to honor and care for the older people among us. In today's culture, with the special challenges presented by longer life expectancies and medical breakthroughs, what exactly does this mean, particularly from a financial standpoint?
On September 12, from 9-11:30am, Richard Martin of Integrity Financial will lead a seminar on the subject of eldercare finances. Richard served as the Executive Director of the Long Term Care Ombudsman. He also taught health care finance and the legal and ethical issues of the health care delivery system at Case Western Reserve University. He also held an appointment in the Division of Behavioral Neurology at University Hospitals of Cleveland where he served as the Assistance Director of the Alzheimer Center.
Subjects that will be considered include:
1) Continuum of care for older adults
2) Cost of care and payment options including Medicare/Veterans Administrations/Private
Insurance/Medicaid
3) Financial planning for Eldercare: budgeting and use of assets
4) Family dynamics with adult children
5) Legal considerations
6) End of life issues
All are encouraged to attend, particularly if you find yourself caring for older parents or thinking through these issues for yourself.
The event is free, and no registration is required.
