Dear Praying Family & Friends,
We´re happy to announce that the Klosterneuburg Fellowship has decided to start meeting twice a month for worship starting in September. Thank you so much for your prayers for this decision.
Our worship services begin at 5:00 p.m. in the community center in Weidling (the building with the lights on in both pictures). The pink building is the Roman Catholic Church. Be praying for this new commitment from our people.
Our leadership team
We have more good news! We want you to meet our co-workers. You already know Fritz and Gabi (the couple on the left), who have been with us from the very beginning and were the first people to be baptized in the group. They and the rest of the fellowship have decided to add the young instructor, Jonathan, from our Evangelical Academy (EVAK) to work for 5-10 hours a week in outreach in Klosterneuburg. Raphaela,in red, is his fiancee´. Below is a picture of Jonathan teaching one of his classes last semester at the EVAK.
Over the last year Jonathan and Raphaela, his fiancee´, have started two seekers groups in another area of Vienna. One young woman even comes from Klosterneuburg! When Jonathan told the two groups that he and Raphaela have chosen our fellowship as their church some of the group asked if they could come sometime, too!! Jonathan´s emphasis will be outreaches to young adults in Klosterneuburg. We´re all really excited about what God will be doing in the next months. Please pray with us!
Thank you so much that you prayed for Jonathan and Raphaela. Eventually their plans will lead them to working as missionaries with Wycliffe in the future, but right now their help is coming at exactly the right time. Thank you, Jesus!
Please be praying for the first ever EVAK one-day retreat for our faculty. We´re hoping to use it to develop closer relations with each other. Almost all of the students have full time jobs and are also heavily involved with their churches; therefore, the Evangelical Academy usually has more evening classes and week-end seminars. The faculty doesn´t have as many opportunities to get to be with each other as those who teach in a residence college. During the retreat, a missionary will be teaching a course on how to recognize your strengths and weaknesses.
Here´s just a short prayer reminder as we are begin our preparations for our fall Klosterneuburg Women´s Breakfast that will be having on October 16th. On September 2 we stuff the envelopes with invitations for the breakfast and pass out the advertising posters to be hung in the Klosterneuburg area. We also get in contact with the different groups and churches who could be interested in bringing women who need to know Christ and who would need a poster and invitations. Then we have several committee meetings to plan all the different parts of the meeting and the follow-up activities. There are about 20 believing women serving on the interdenominational planning committee. If some of your women´s groups begin meeting in September or the beginning of October, we would appreciate your prayers for this special evangelistic event on October 16th.
We´re also very happy to tell you that David has gotten a job as a software developer for a company called Modern Electronics. He likes his work and said I should tell you thank you for praying for him. Continue to pray through September, because the companies here have a month´s time as a test period. They can release you and not have to give a reason, pay extra or have any legal consequences.
Daniel is still looking, but just last week has connected with a company that is like Manpower. They find the companies that want someone for a short time (a day or two). He has worked three times for them in the last two weeks.
Thank you for your continued prayer for the work in Klosterneuburg and for our family. Let us know what your plans are this fall, so we can also be praying for you.
Love in Christ,
Joe & Brenda Ziska
