News from Oaxaca August 2010
July has slipped by and we are already looking at a busy August. Our airstrips are still closed to regular flights. Mike, Edgar and the community leaders all met with an official from Mexico City on July 16. The biggest result of this meeting was blanket permission for emergency flights and Mike has done several of those. The Mexican official is meeting with his superior to see what arrangements can be made to help us out. They have simplified many of the paper work requirements. Most of the communities are making good progress in getting the documentation ready. Please keep praying for this situation.
Mike & Joan were both involved in VBS last week with our Oaxacan church. Mike manned the door and Joan shepherded 15 preschoolers from class to class. Sunday morning saw at least 50 adults in attendance who do not regularly attend a church – PTL.
One of our airplanes is in Nampa, Idaho waiting for the engine to be installed. Mike is planning to go by airline to Nampa later this month to fly it back to Mexico. We are still awaiting the necessary paperwork to be approved and would appreciate your prayers.
Mike is once again the only pilot here for at least another week. Please continue to pray for safe flights.
