The Ross Family

Ross Family Update: July 2009

Dear Friends,

Thank you so much for your prayers for our activities during June.  The wedding was lovely and the girls traveled well.  We had a great time with the high school team as well as painting two different church buildings.  Aaron's visit was fast and furious, but a nice change for him.

July will be a little different for both of us.  Joan is currently in the Cleveland area awaiting the birth of our fourth grandchild.  Mike is planning to join her on the 30th.

This week Mike is holding down the fort in Oaxaca as Juan Carlos' father had surgery on Monday and Juan Carlos flew to Monterey to be with him.  Leo is on vacation so he's out of the picture too.

July 13 - 19 Mike has a missionary friend visiting him from Bolivia.  Kep will be meeting Edgar Rivera and Neri so that he'll be able to encourage Mike in the studies he does with them.  Kep will also help Mike to plan out their next study as they have almost completed Romans.  Please pray for wisdom and insight for Kep and encouragement for Mike.

July 20 - 24 is VBS at our church in Oaxaca.  Mike will be helping every evening.  Please pray that this outreach will open doors into families who have never heard the gospel.

We would also appreciate your prayers for Edgar Lopez and his girlfriend Nayely.  Edgar is a local pilot who hangs around the MAF office at the airport.  Edgar Rivera led him to the Lord several months ago.  Shortly afterwards they began attending church with us.  Please pray that God would give us opportunities to help Edgar grow in his new faith.

We are praising God for two new supporters this month.  We are continually amazed at his provision in our lives.

Thank you for standing with us as we serve our Lord in Oaxaca.

Mike & Joan

P.S.  Right after I wrote this and sent it to Mike for his input I received a call to head to the hospital.  Rylan Elaine Ross was born at 5:39 p.m., weighed 8 lb. 4 oz. and was 21 inches long.  Both mom and baby are doing well.
