The Robinson Family

Robinson May 2012 Prayer Requests

1. Please pray for us as we make a final extended trip this month visiting friends, supporters and family before returning to Germany in June. Pray for that our times together will bring us closer to Christ and that they will be mutually encouraging.

2. Pray for discernment and wisdom as we begin to engage more actively with our German ministry partners in preparation for our return in June. Pray for unity of mind and heart as we make some changes and as we explore new opportunities together.

Robinson April 2012 Prayer Requests

1. Please pray for our son, Ben, who is in Afghanistan. He is well but the recent events in the news have altered many aspects of his mission. The situation there is tense and high alert. Please pray for his protection and that of his men. Pray that Ben would have a wise mind and spirit attuned to the Master.

2. Praise that our daughter, Emily, has a new, full-time job at a florist. She is also considering some other part-time work to keep up her film skills and supplement her income. Pray that she would continue to grow in grace and maturity so that she might live a full life bearing fruit pleasing to God.

Robinson March 2012 Prayer Requests

1. Praise for a warm and encouraging visit with Ben before he deployed to Afghanistan. Ben arrived safely and is transitioning into his new role as a supply officer. The deployment is for nine months. Please pray for the safety of the entire task force and for good working relations with the other forces whom they are coordinating efforts.

2. Praise that Reinhold is continuing to experience healing after a period of deep burnout in ministry.

3. Praise that a very difficult person on the Elder board of Sebastian’s church has resigned. Praise for David, a young man of great potential and good character, who was elected to fill this position. Pray for Sebastian’s wisdom and physical strength. The church is growing and this places even greater demands on his time. Pray that he would be Spirit-directed as he responds to these needs.

Robinson February 2012 Prayer Requests

1. Praise for a spiritually refreshing time in Colorado as we met with colleagues at the headquarters of Greater Europe Mission. Praise for the meaningful conversations and for the team that served each of us during our Home Ministry Renewal.

2. Praise for a letter from a German pastor who is growing through a period of deep burnout in ministry. Pray for continued healing in Reinhold’s life and for wisdom as he seeks to discern what the next steps for his life, family and ministry should be.

3. Praise for safety during Ben’s recent training in California. He is now in Savannah, Georgia (Ft. Stewart) preparing to deploy in early February. Pray for us as we travel to see him, help him wrap up his affairs and say “goodbye”. This tour of duty is for nine months.

Robinson January 2012 Prayer Requests

1. Praise for a warm welcome and encouraging visit to Leipzig. We enjoyed many good spiritual conversations with friends and ministry partners. Our meeting to discuss the training center was open, honest and interested. The relationship will require time to develop but an invitation was extended to explore this idea further when we return to Germany next summer. We are encouraged and continue to pray for clear guidance in this matter.

2. Pray for the week of prayer, January 8-15, in Leipzig. Pray that the churches in Leipzig will become more zealous in their witness for Christ. As one pastor recently lamented, Leipzig is an extremely atheistic city with little interest in the church. Pray that the witness of individual Christians will point people to Christ, even if they are unwilling to enter a church.

3. Praise for our safe return to the USA (with no delays!). We arrived a day before our children’s visit to Ohio for the Christmas holidays. It was a very special time together as a family. The first time we have all been together in several years.

Robinson December 2011 Prayer Requests

1. Praise that Emily suffered only minor injuries from a four-car accident in Austin. Her car was totaled and she is working through the details with the insurance company. Pray for full physical healing and a speedy settlement of all claims. Pray for God’s favor at her new part-time job at Austin Film Society as she learns all the expectations and skills required of her.

2. Pray for Ben as he prepares to leave for his second tour of duty, this time in Afghanistan. Pray for wisdom and physical strength as he and his men are working long hours in preparation for this deployment. Praise that we could have him join us for Thanksgiving and pray that his planned visit at Christmas will not be cancelled.

3. Pray for safe travel for Katherine and me as we return to Leipzig on December 5th for a short visit. Pray for a number of meetings with ministry partners (December 8, 9, and 14), and especially for a meeting on December 20th as we present a proposal for a long-term ministry project (center for discipleship training) in partnership with a local church. Pray for our safe return to the USA on December 21st.

Robinson November 2011 Prayer Requests

1. Praise that Emily has been hired by the Austin Film Society to work part-time (20 hours a week) as the Development Assistant to the Development Director. We are thankful that she has the opportunity to work in the field she loves and has trained for. We believe the set working hours will enable her to develop her interests in other areas, as well as enable her to continue to look for full-time employment by networking with those in the industry. Please continue to pray for her full-time employment.

2. Pray for a graphic artist for the Lost for Words project. We need a "volunteer" to develop a new logo for the course and to improve the present graphics.

3. November 16th is "Repentance and Prayer Day" in Germany. Traditionally this was a national holiday calling the German people to repentance and prayer. Few federal states honor this day (ironically Saxony, the post-communist state where Leipzig is located, treats this day as a holiday). The churches associated with the Alliance (of which we are a part of) have organized a citywide church service calling all Christians together for a day of repentance and prayer. Please pray for our friend, Bodo Kaeber, who will preach and for those organizing this gathering. Pray that many Christians in Leipzig will attend this service and set aside this day for prayer.

1. Praise for safe and meaningful times of fellowship with friends and family in Oklahoma, Kansas and southern Ohio. These dear people who have journeyed with us over the years, as we have ministered in Germany, are a continual source of encouragement.

2. Pray for a graphic artist for the Lost for Word project. We need someone to “volunteer” their time to develop a new logo for the course and to improve the present graphics in the course.
