1. Praise for the smooth re-entry we have experienced since our return to Germany. Praise that the 25th wedding anniversary (church service) was a blessing to many – your prayers were evident as I prepared and conducted this service. Pray that the remaining re-entry details will be completed this month.

2. Praise for the warm welcome among our ministry partners, volleyball group and a colleague Katherine works with where she teaches English. Pray that we will wisely discern how to move forward with some of the requests placed before us by our ministry partners. Pray, too, for wisdom and sensitivity as we “disengage” from some activities that no longer seem to be helpful or necessary.

Culture Watch

Nearly three-­‐fourths of the East Germans that migrated to West Germany now indicate that they would return East if they could. According to this study, most East Germans moved West not because they were frustrated with living in the East, but rather, they saw no opportunity for employment after the collapse of communism. Today, many desire to return to be close to “family and friends.” In 2010 alone, over 40,000 East Germans returned “home.” At the end of this month, Katherine and I will add to this growing number as we “move East” and return to Leipzig.
