Have you seen me roaming the halls of the church and thought to yourself, “Was that Kathy Maenner I just saw?” “I thought Kathy went back to Bolivia”, or “Is Kathy still here? Why? How long?“ 

In the fall while back on a slightly extended home assignment, I sought counsel from the pastors, regarding a potential “compassion leave” to help with my parents. Upon my return to Bolivia in mid-October, I met with my Bolivian pastor and mission leadership in Bolivia to hear from them. The final consensus was for me to come back to the US for one year.

1) Praise for the provision of housing and the Lord using the Parkside family to meet this need. I have had a great time in Hiram. Pray for the new living and roommate arrangement, that it would be a smooth transition for Jen, me and the dogs. Pray that we will encourage and challenge one another in our walks with the Lord. Continue to be thankful for time spent with my mom and the rest of my family.

1) Pray for safe travels as I go to Washington DC, April 5-12. While in DC, I will attend the Global Prayer Gathering with International Justice Mission; Pray that this would be a time of spiritual refreshment and challenge. Thankful for an opportunity to have such a time set aside dedicated to prayer.

I will also be visiting a couple of young women that I discipled in Bolivia; pray that this would a time of encouragement. One of the gals is at college and is in a very challenging environment, where it is not easy to take a stand for Jesus.
