Dear ones,
Here are some requests for September.
Nan and I will be visiting Isaac along with Elisa and her growing family for a few days in early September. We hope to see Molly later in the month as well. May God bless our kids and all MK's. It's wonderful being an MK, but it has its challenges.
Pray for CILTA. I taught first semester and will not be there this semester (now until Christmas) because of responsibilities in Guatemala. We have 16 students and 3 teaching assistants, our largest class ever. May God raise up Latin American missionaries to be involved in Bible translation.
The new initiative, CLAVE, a course for 20 Indians mostly from Mexico and Central America will start in late October. We are choosing the student body and determining curriculum and resources. These are people who work in their native cultures as pastors, teachers, literacy specialists, or in development of one kind or another. Pray that they can dedicate 16 weeks to intensive study for the promotion and appreciation of their native languages and cultures.
Thanks for your prayers and interest. We're looking forward to being at Parkside in October.
