Parkside Missionaries
Several years ago the elders at Parkside moved from supporting many people with a little bit of funding to supporting a smaller amount of people with a lot of funding. The process evolved over time but the idea emerged that we must be building a relationship within our community with the person(s) being sent so that we might adequately care for them while on the field. Funding the person (family) fully is a part of that process, as well as providing housing and transportation while they are on home assignment. Praying for them while they are away through monthly calendars and highlighting through various communication pieces and services are ways for our people to pray for our mission family and stay abreast to their progress. Our role does not replace the work mission agencies do as they perform vital work to help the overall work of the gospel through the missionaries. However, we seek to provide the ongoing care in one place so the missionary isn't preoccupied with raising more funding and wearing themselves out before going back to the field.
