It’s December 14th and as Pastor Dan Southam looks out his office window (I don’t have one) he doesn’t see snow anywhere. But I know that it’s coming. We're in Ohio. And if there’s one thing I know about snow, it’s this -- snow means skiing.

We will be heading to Erie, PA on January 21st for a weekend of fun! You don't want to miss out on Mogul Mania 2012.

The move from elementary to middle school can be exciting and a little bit unsettling for students…and parents. Club JV, the Parkside Middle School ministry, wants to help. Please join us this Tuesday, August 2nd at 7pm for a special "6th Grade Welcome Night" to help make that transition a little bit easier.

On different mornings at different high schools, groups of teenagers are meeting before class at 7:00 a.m. to study the Bible, pray, and develop relationships with other students. The group that meets is called the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA), "but you don't have to be an athlete to attend," explains, Meagan (pronounced MAY-gen) Crowl, 17 who plays on the golf team and is a junior at Solon High School. "It was just easier to keep the name because it was already an existing group," adds Meagan.

The holidays may be over, but the fun isn't! Parkside's student ministries are hitting the slopes and making a splash this January at their annual winter retreats.

A Welcome...

The Middle School years are a pretty remarkable time of life.  Everything surrounding these students suggests that the world is getting bigger, moving faster, and probably crazier than they could ever have imagined. It’s exciting, and potentially a little scary.

This is where Club JV comes in. Club JV is part of Parkside’s ministry to middle school students in grades 6-8. Club JV meets on Tuesdays at the Warehouse.  Every Tuesday is an opportunity for fun and growth as we spend time building relationships, playing games, worshiping God, and studying the Bible.

The fall retreat is for all students in grades 6 through 12 and will be held on October 3 and 4. We’re calling it O’Frenzy, and it’s an event that your student doesn’t want to miss.
