The theme for the real retreat this year is in the world but not of it. The idea comes from Jesus' prayer in John 17, in which he states that his follwers are not of this world, but that they have been sent into this world. Too many times, it seems, in seeking to relate to the non-Christian world around us, Christians emphasize on of these statements at the expense of the other. We become either isolationists, not interacting with unbelievers and creating our own "Christian version" of everything that is available in the culture, or chameleons, such that there is no appreciable difference between us and our non-Christian friends. Throughout the course of the weekend, we will seek to wrestle with the implications of being different from the world around us, but not completely detached from it. Join Us!
The cost is $75 and includes transportation, lodging, snacks & three meals. You will need to bring money for dinner on the road Saturday Night. Registration must be recived by April 8th. There are only 30 spots available so sign up now!
Be at the Warehouse at 6:15pm on Friday, April 15th where we will enjoy a meal together before leaving for Camp Carl. We will return to the Warehouse on Saturday, April 16 at 7:00pm.
Bring a Bible, pen, sleeping bag, pillow, flashlight, toiletries and warm clothes.
