The theme for the Real Retreat this year is reckless grace. The idea comes from a book (left) written by Tim Keller, a pastor in New York City. In The Prodigal God, Keller re-examines one of Jesus’ most familiar parables, noting that God’s reckless grace is not just intended for terrible sinners, but also for those who think they are pretty good people. According to Keller, Jesus uses this parable to communicate that “both the irreligious and religious are spiritually lost, both life-paths are dead ends, and that every thought the human race has had about how to connect to God has been wrong”.
