Details: Johannes Thaele is ministering at Van Stadensrus twice a month and he spends two to three days teaching the gospel at the schools during the day and after school he is busy with counselling. July 24-26 Johannes presented a camp for youth and learners of Van Stadensrus. More than 300 children attended the camp. There were various activities that took place in those three days: singing songs of praise, memorizing Bible verses and playing games. Many children surrendered their lives to Jesus. Please pray for the work of Van Stadensrus to grow. Pray for the young people who committed their life to Jesus who are eager to start with Bible Study groups. Pray for the safety of Johannes Thaele and Frans Sekhoto on the road. Orissa (India). Church growth has multiplied despite great opposition. The census numbers Christians as 2.4% in Orissa, but some groups (both Christian and Hindutva) claim 28% or more. This is certainly an exaggeration, but it is indicative of both rapid Christian growth and alarmed reaction. Most Christians in Orissa are tribal and Dalit peoples; they are by far the most responsive to outreach. Pray for the many Indian agencies seeking to augment this growth. Pray that caste discrimination, particularly prevalent in Orissa, might end – Christians suffer acutely from it.
